Windows of home with children often are decorated with pictures of Peter Cotton Tail carrying his overflowing basket of eggs and various other Easter pictures either made at school or bought to brighten and celebrate the holiday. The children gather around the dinning table to help in the decorating of the colorful Easter Eggs that will soon be hid around the yard for them to hunt. Easter dinners are cooking on stovetops and in the oven, Easter breads baking, and the fresh spring in the air makes it a holiday of renewal. Soon the family will be gathering around the dinning table to enjoy a feast fit for a king as they share their stories of life and the children share their stories of how they scored hunting for eggs and their Easter Baskets. It is a warm and comforting feeling surrounding the table, one that will leave pleasant memories behind for everyone.
However, to insure that your memories you make this Easter holiday and all holidays you spend around your Amish table, take a few precautions.
- Make sure when dying Easter Eggs that there is adult supervision and that you use a vinyl table cloth over the table while your children dye their eggs.
- If decorating the table with a beautiful Easter Flower arrangement, make sure that it is in a vase or container that will not tip easy while everyone is gathered around the table. If it is a little shaky, remove it while you are dinning.
- Make sure to use hot plates when placing your Easter dinner dishes on the dinning table, even for cold dishes that could sweat.
- Provide coasters for your guest to place their drinking glasses on.
- If there are many children, you may want to set up a couple card tables and decorate them in child friendly Easter decor and let the children eat there.
We wish you and yours a blessed and Happy Easter full of beautiful memories!!!!

We do color eggs for Easter and you better believe that my Amish made table is protected in every way possible. Adult supervision is a must in my house. I want them to have fun, but I also want to protect my home and everything in it.
ReplyDeleteThe only time my Amish made table top is visible is when it is not being used. I bought a water proof table liner to go under a table cloth when we are eating at that table. As a family we prefer the nook in the kitchen. The dining room is visible from the living room and is part of the ambiance of the area. We never do arts and crafts on that table. I means too much to me.
ReplyDeleteWe inherited an Amish built dining room table from an aunt who passed away. We have no idea how old it is but we know it's at least 30 years old. It served her well, raising 5 kids around it. Each of the kids bought their own as they moved out so they had no need for it and I'm grateful she thought of us. Our children are grown and we have grandchildren now so we'll be able to fill up the table also. I happened to see your list on repairing mishaps. I printed it off just in case. We will take very good care of it and it may live to serve another generation.
ReplyDeleteMy parents Amish made table was laden with food on Easter Sunday. Mom's too old to do everything herself so she cooks the meat and the kids haul in the rest. Food is abundant, but so is the love of our family. We all look forward to gathering around that table as often as we can manage it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a very large Amish made dining room table that shrinks under the size of our family. Every holiday you'll find it packed with great food and a loving family. It's a possession we're quite proud of.
ReplyDeleteThe Amish dining table is one every family should have. Built to last, pass down to the next generation and it looks lovely in any home.
ReplyDeleteWe are very grateful we found your website.
Your dining room tables are beautiful. Placing an order for my wife for the holiday. I'll be good for a long time--no doghouse! lol
