Many were made by their father’s, others handed down from their mother’s to be filled with things they would need to start their new beginnings as a wife. Although the original use of hope chest has been outdated for many, some still love to hold on to such nostalgically traditions such as the gifting of Amish Hope Chest for a young bride to be.

Others still enjoy Amish hope chests as both a stylish piece of furniture and storage place to keep cherished keepsakes and memories, some for extra blankets and quilts, and some for storing crafting items such as bulks of yarn for knitting and crocheting.

  1. I've always liked the idea of a hope chest. I'm 62 now and I had one that my Dad finished. It's doing another duty now as a toy chest for my grandson. Their usefulness changes over the years but they will service you for a lifetime.

  2. It's kind of an old fashioned idea, but I like it. I had one and so did my daughter. I'm wondering if my granddaughter would like to have one too.
