Amish Armoire

I remember when a friend of mine purchased her first Amish armoire. It was a funny occasion and partly the reason I recall it so well. Stacey had previously purchased a beautiful Amish Bedroom set but only got one dresser at the time and was needing a little more space that was universal at the same time. She decided later that the perfect piece that would complete her bedroom outfit was the Amish armoire. Without doing any measuring first (her bedroom was on the second floor of her home), she ordered the armoire, the biggest one in the collection.

When the armoire arrived is when the fun began. She called us all (our little circle) as we were all on call to help move the armoire to her room. We all thought it should be a piece of cake until we saw the monstrous armoire she purchased. Without doing any previous measuring, she didn’t have a clue there was no way we could get it up her steps to her room – no matter how many different ways we twisted or turned this beautiful piece of furniture. We all got to laughing so hard we were all most out of hope of having any energy left to figure out a solution to the armoire dilemma. But we did.

We ended up having to go through Stacy’s bedroom window to get it into her room. She was bound and determined to have it with the rest of her set and nothing else would do. So we made a few more phone calls and called in a few pro movers and finally did accomplish getting her Amish armoire in her room. Stacey was happy, so we were all happy as well, although we all warned her any future purchases could not be made until one of us measured first and she stuck to the guidelines. Her room looks magnificent and all is well that ends well.

Why not include one of our beautiful Amish-made armoires in with your bedroom furniture? Our armoires are both very practical and very beautiful (and extremely sturdy, even if it has to be lifted through a bedroom window). You can store away so much in one of these Amish bedroom furniture armoires - use one to house your television, store knick-knacks, or organize clothing. Include one of these armoires with your current furniture (we are sure to have one that will blend in nicely), or buy a completely new bedroom furniture set with an armoire that matches perfectly. You can do like Stacey did and purchase piece by piece or all at once. The great thing about Amish Furniture is that you will always be able to find a piece to go with your set. It is all about tradition.

  1. Leave it to a bunch of women to figure out how to solve a problem. Maybe Stacey was relying on the ingenuity of her inner circle and didn't want to measure it and feel like she couldn't buy it. I'm like that too. If I see something I like, I'll make it work, somehow, someway. Ask my husband. He moved a wall for me so I could move the entertainment center to the wall away from the windows. He's a peach like that!

  2. I could really use this in the dining room. The color is a match to the table and chairs. I could store my table cloths and cloth napkins and good silverware i the room where I use it most. I also have a silver tea service set that could be stored there. I'll have to check the dimensions, but I think that will work too.

  3. What a beautiful armoire. We really need some more storage in our bedroom and this would look really good with the rest of the furniture in there.

  4. My daughter found this armoire and is wanting it for her bedroom. It really doesn't match her furniture very well, but it sure does match ours. I wonder how much trouble it would cause if I bought this one for us and found her another one that was a better match? I'm about to find out.

  5. My Mother just lost all of her belongings in a fire. Thankfully, she was not home at the time. She had a chest that belonged to her mother and this one bears an uncanny resemblance to it. It is the one piece of furniture that she will miss the most. I know this cannot replace it, but I hope that having it will help her deal with her loss.
